Old Hollywood Questionnaire
I thought it would be fun to do a 20 Questions type of thing but on Old Hollywood. Some of these questions I borrowed from others' Old Hollywood questionnaire's and some I thought of myself. So let's begin.
1.) What classic film star got you into Old Hollywood?
Shirley Temple
2.) What was the first classic film you saw that got you into Old Hollywood?
I think it was Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, it was a Shirley Temple movie though.
3.) Who is your favorite classic actress?
A tie between Judy Garland and Natalie Wood
4.) Who is your favorite classic actor?
Actually, I don't have one.
5.) What is your favorite movie genre?
Musicals
6.) What is your favorite classic film?
Tough one but I'm going with The Wizard of OZ (1939)
7.) What is your favorite classic movie soundtrack?
West Side Story (1961)
8.) Who is your favorite movie character?
Dorothy Gale (The Wizard of OZ) and Scarlett O'Hara (Gone With the Wind)
9.) What is your favorite quote from a film?
'After all... Tomorrow is Another Day!' from Gone With the Wind
10.) Who is your favorite silent film star?
Buster Keaton
11.) What is your favorite silent film?
City Lights (1931) which ironically stars Charlie Chaplin not Buster Keaton!
12.) Who is your favorite director?
Billy Wilder
13.) What actor or actress do you think is underrated?
Farley Granger
14.) What classic film do you think is underrated?
Rope (1948)
15.) Do you collect anything related to Old Hollywood?
Yes, I have a nice sized collection of coffee table books on classic stars and Old Hollywood.
16.) Recommend an autobiography or biography on a classic star:
Natasha: The Biography of Natalie Wood by Suzanne Finstad
17.) Is there an actor or actress who should've won an Oscar but didn't?
Judy, should've one over Grace Kelly!
18.) Is there a classic star everyone loves but you don't?
John Wayne, Kirk Douglas, Clark Gable
19.) What unsolved mystery would you like to be solved?
Natalie Wood's mysterious death.
20.) Pretend you are a Guest Programmer on TCM. Pick 4 films you'd share:
- Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)
- The Thin Man (1934)
- Funny Face (1957)
- Sex and the Single Girl (1964)
This was fun! I might do one on classic TV and music.
Until Next Time,
