Icons of The 1930s

I'm back with another installment of my Icons of the..., this time I'm taking on the 1930s. Beginning in 1929 fashion became more conservative for women long gone were the days of short flapper dresses and in it's place came long skirts and waist lines that defined a more 'womanly shape'. As for beauty blonde hair became all the rage, the term 'blonde bombshell' was coined- as many movie stars dyed their hair blonde (think Jean Harlow) usually with bleach. However short hair was still instyle. Gone were the sleek bob styles and replaced with feminine curls. Eyebrows were plucked off and drawn in thin pencil lines. And lip gloss was introduced in 1930. Max Factor and Elizabeth Arden were household names. Basically everything became very glamorous and women wanted to copy what women in Hollywood looked like.
Here's a few of the icons from the 1930s.

Greta Garbo

Marlene Dietrich

Carole Lombard

Jean Harlow

Bette Davis

Joan Crawford

Did I miss anyone from the 1930s you consider an icon? Tell me below.

Until Next Time,
