My Favorite TV Theme Songs

Image
I'm not a huge television watcher of today's shows but I will say there is one thing missing: A Theme Song! What used to be a minute or two of a catchy song showing opening credits with the cast is pretty much a thing of the past. Anyway I've put together a list of my favorite classic TV shows, in no particular order. The Mary Tyler Moore Show 1970-1977 The Dick Van Dyke Show 1961-1966 Bewitched 1964-1972 Three's Company 1977-1984 Charlie's Angels 1976-1981 The Brady Bunch 1969-1974 I Dream of Jeannie 1965-1970 Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? 1969-1971 Until Next Time, Ashley A.

Natalie Wood Birthday Tribute

Image
Monday July 20th would have marked Natalie Wood's 77th birthday. In honor of that I've put together a list of my favorite Natalie films. Tomorrow Is Forever (1946) * Note: The clip above is not the actual trailer but a scene from the film featuring Natalie. This was Natalie's first big screen flick. (Happyland was first but since she has a tiny, practically off camera role I'm not counting that). She's all of seven years old, playing a German orphan Orson Wells adopts. Complete with hair bleached blonde and a bit of a German accent. She steals every scene she's in which is funny since she's acting with Orson Wells and Claudette Colbert. I won't divulge in the film if you haven't seen it yet but if you're curious to see her first big movie role check this out.                                            Miracle on 34th Street (1947) A completely differe...

Fashion Through Film: Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg)

Image
I'm back with another installment of Fashion Through Film, this time with Les Parapluies de Cherbourg ( The Umbrellas of Cherbourg ). This is one of my favorite fashion films as I really love Genevieve's wardrobe and it's actually something I'd wear in real life. Anyway without further ado let's begin. When we first meet Genevieve we find her working in her mother's umbrella shop. Her outfit almost resembles a school uniform here with the plaid skirt and white blouse.  Later we find Genevieve on a date with her boyfriend, Guy. As you can see she's dressed in a pink coat. A white clutch and yellow hair ribbon complete her look. Guy isn't dressed too shabby either in his pinstripe suit and trench.  Ah we get to a sad part in the film. Guy has told Genevieve he's been drafted in the Algerian War. After spending the night together she sees him to the train station. Even as her love departs she's dressed well in a...
