This franchise spawned 3 made for TV films. It is based on a 1949 book Lottie and Lisa by Erich Kastner. The Parent Trap (1961) Directed By: David Swift Starring: Hayley Mills, Maureen O'Hara, Brian Keith Running Time: 128 Minutes The Parent Trap (1998) Directed By: Nancy Meyers Starring: Lindsay Lohan, Natasha Richardson, Dennis Quaid Running Time: 128 Minutes While the remake has it's moments and is a cute film the original is better. I prefer the cast in the original as in the remake I only like Natasha Richardson as the twins mother and Elaine Hendrix as the villainous future step-mom. While in the original I like everyone.
